Hey followers <4
A few weeks ago, I went to London with my school. It was really great, I will post a few blogs about it! On April 20th we went to The Fortune Theatre in London, located on Russell Street. We got tickets for the play The Woman in Black, the play is an adaptation of the novel with the same title written by Susan Hill in 1983. In this blog, I’m going to tell you my opinion about this play.
First of all, some information about the story. There are two characters in this play: Mr Kipps and The Actor. Mr Kipps has written a manuscript of his story and he wants to share his story with other people. He hires a young actor to help him, they agree to perform the story. The Actor plays Mr Kipps and Mr Kipps plays all the other characters. Arthur Kipps is played by Malcolm James and The Actor is played by Matt Connor.
Before we went to the play, I wasn’t very excited for it. It sounded boring and not so frightening, although it was really spine-tingling. The reason that it was so scary, is that the whole theatre was used. Sometimes there were scary things at the stage, but there were also scary things where you didn’t expect them to be. Behind the audience, next to the audience, it was everywhere.
Another thing I really liked: there were only a few attributes! Even with not so many attributes, they could represent everything. I would recommend this play, because it is was frightening, scary and also a little bit funny.
